Well I did say I didn't have an illustrated Gundam, so here one is. This was probably the first one I watched back in the day too. Never really got why they upgraded it halfway through the series though.

Well if the image is large enough starting you just usually want to keep them ridged with a straight edge, often bent. There were a few flat ones but I don't think those fit unless the front of the face is flat too.

Well to be fair I think the decal the type was based on was done by someone who's primary language wasn't English, never thought of that though, interesting.
